Guaranteed reliability sampling (GRS) plans for intermittent sampling inspection based on Lomax failure model
Author(s): S Devaarul and Ramya D
Abstract: In this article an algorithm is proposed to guarantee reliability on the products during testing and hence a decision is made on batches based on the results of type-I censoring. The operating reliability rate for intermittent testing is derived and the necessary proofs are given. The efficiency measure values are compared with existing reliability sampling plans. It is found when the reliability increases then the probability of rejection decreases which is satisfactory for producers. Consumers are also happy with the new algorithm since a guaranteed reliability is obtained through these reliability sampling plans. Tables are constructed to facilitate easy implementation of reliability plans. Illustrations are presented so as to select the relevant reliability sampling plans.
