Studying the reasons for the decline in the academic level and failure of some students in Iraqi universities (Field study)

Abstract: The study aimed to identify the causes of academic failure among university students from the point of view of Iraqi university students. The sample consisted of (319) male and female students. To achieve the objectives, the researcher used the descriptive analytical approach and the questionnaire as a tool for collecting data. She reached several results, the most important of which are: The most influential causes of academic failure are, in order: educational causes at a rate of (3.82) with a medium degree, then health and psychological causes at a rate of (3.55) with a medium degree, then social causes at a rate of (3.36) with a medium degree. It showed the existence of differences in the viewpoints of sample members attributed to gender differences, as the difference was in favor of males, and there is a difference in viewpoints among sample members attributed to the health status in favor of healthy people.
