Abstract: The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in agriculture has the potential to revolutionize the way we produce, manage and distribute food. This review paper provides a comprehensive overview of the current state of AI applications in agriculture, highlighting its uses in crop management, livestock monitoring, precision farming and supply chain optimization. We discuss the various AI techniques employed including machine learning, deep learning and computer vision and examine their impact on agricultural productivity, efficiency and sustainability. The paper also explores the challenges and limitations of AI adoption in agriculture, including data quality, infrastructure and expertise. Finally, we outline future directions for research and development emphasizing the need for interdisciplinary collaboration, data sharing and tailored solutions for diverse agricultural contexts. This review aims to provide a valuable resource for researchers, policymakers and practitioners seeking to harness the power of AI in agriculture.
