Abstract: Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) play a crucial role in the agricultural development of Bundelkhand, a region facing recurring droughts and socio-economic challenges. This study investigates the determinants influencing farmers' decisions to seek agricultural information from NGOs, focusing on factors such as age, farming experience, landholding size, and income. Conducted in Jhansi and Banda districts of Uttar Pradesh, the study employed a comparative analysis of 120 farmers-those who engage with NGOs and those who do not-using t-tests and Mann-Whitney U tests. The findings indicate that while age and farming experience do not significantly impact farmers' engagement with NGOs, landholding size and income levels do. Farmers with larger landholdings and higher incomes are less likely to seek NGO support, whereas smaller-scale and lower-income farmers are more reliant on NGO interventions. These insights suggest that NGOs should refine their outreach strategies to better target and support resource-poor farmers, enhancing their accessibility to vital agricultural information and sustainable farming practices.
