Problems and constraiants in implementation of the scheme by the MGNREGA respondents in Parbhani district of Maharashtra

Abstract: In India, GDP and Unemployment rates causing fear for democratic society. The MGNREGA scheme mainly focused on providing enhancement of livelihood security of the households in rural area of India by providing minimum 100 days guaranteed wage employment in every financial year. To find out the problems, a study was conducted in Parbhani district of Maharashtra state and its objective was to find out major constraints faced by MGNREGA respondents. From Parbhani district, six villages were selected from two talukas, thus 20 MGNREGA beneficiaries were selected from each village with total sample size 120 beneficiaries of MGNREGA by using multi-stage sampling design. Thus, constraints were analysed with Garrett’s Ranking Technique (GRT). There was total 12 constraints considered along with MGNREGA beneficiaries from that, non-availability of 100 day’s work was major problem faced by MGNREGA beneficiaries by taking rank I with mean score 64.18 percent.
