Abstract: Malnutrition is an injury to health caused by excessive deficiency or nutrient imbalance. Nutrition is of greater importance than genetic history or other biological factors as regards the particularly fast growing period of infancy. The main objective of the study was to observe the personal and socio-economic characteristics status, assess anthropometric measurements and find out correlation of socio-economic and nutritional status of preschool children attending ICDS anganwadis in Dhanera Taluka of Banaskantha District, Gujarat. 200 anganwadi children in the age group 3 to 5 years were included in the present investigation. The data showed that weight and height were low and they were undernourished and stunted, correlation co-efficient between age, sex, caste, religion, Family size, family type, Mother’s education and annual income was non-significant with nutritional status of preschool children. Thus, the results of the present finding suggest that children of Dhanera taluka still live under poor nutritional status.
