Changing scenario in area, production and productivity of pigeon pea in state of Maharashtra in two decades and its implications

Abstract: An attempt has been done in this research paper to
assess the changes in Area, Production and Productivity of Pigeon Pea over two
decades from 2001-02 to 2020-21 in state of Maharashtra state as a whole and
also its implications(s). It has been found that there have been fluctuations
in all these three. Area, Production and Productivity but these fluctuations
are slow but has rising trend. It has been suggested that sincere efforts are
needed at the level of Govt. of Maharashtra as well as central govt. to augment
the area, production and productivity of this pulse crop at a faster rate.
