Abstract: The present study of the analysis of fertilizer
consumption trends and its relationship with wheat productivity is vital in
farming systems for sustainable agriculture. In this study, fertilizers such as
N, P, and K have been taken for their consumption trend from 2000-01 to 2020-21
in the state of Chhattisgarh, India. It was observed that the consumption trend
is significantly increasing. Moreover, a relationship between N consumption and
wheat productivity, P consumption and wheat productivity, and K consumption and
wheat productivity has been explored. Three models: (i) Straight line, (ii)
Second-degree parabola curve and (iii) Exponential curve were explored, and R²
has been used to find the better model. It was observed that the maximum R² is
0.66, 0.67 and 0.49 in the case of N consumption with wheat productivity, P
consumption with wheat productivity, and K consumption with wheat productivity,
respectively, and these are shown only by the second-degree parabola curve. R²
is significant at the 1% level. Hence, it was observed that a second-degree
parabola could be used to find the relationship between fertilizer consumption
and wheat productivity. Compound growth rates of N, P, and K consumption were
increasing patterns of the Rabi season in Chhattisgarh state from 2001-02 to
2020-21.
